Intermediate Fencing

Megan and her MedalsOur intermediate fencing program is designed to do two things. First, for those who show an interest, we bring promising fencers into the exciting world of competitive fencing. Second, we provide a program for fencers who want to learn more about the sport, but don't want the pressure of serious competition. We realize that many people may not be interested in competing, but love the sport all the same. While SFA produces some of the best fencers in the Bay Area, and the nation, we also provide a place for people who love the sport and the great workout that comes with it.

The Sonoma Fencing Academy provides year-round training, with classes for all levels of fencers as well as private lessons for individual students. Our program provides group footwork, drills and exercises, but doesn't neglect the individual attention so necessary for every student to succeed. Private lessons from the coaches helps fencers perfect form and technique, while ample time is given to in-club bouting. We're proud of our students, and push them to achieve their fullest potential in the international sport of fencing.

Also available at the intermediate level is the option to fence with the other two weapons used in the modern sport, the Epee and the Saber. SFA is by no means a single weapon club, and we strive to accommodate the personal preference of every fencer.

With so many times and locations available for fencing, there's sure to be one that's right for you. Take a look at our schedule, and feel free to ask us any questions you might have about our program.
