Saturday, July 7th was a busy day at the Sonoma Fencing Academy, with 3 events in our in-club tournament. The event was a great success, as fencers from all over Marin and Sonoma counties converged to compete.
In the 7-10 year old event the top three finishers were:
1st place: Nicky Laurant from Marinwood
2nd place: Erik Sandell from San Rafael
3rd place: Hunter Neely from SFA
3rd place: Simon Duvall from San Rafael
Also competing that day (in no particular order) were Zachary Kane, Conor O'Shaughnessy, James Magliari, Weston Stauffee, Ben Cook, Hunter Jacobson, Elena Morelos, Nathaniel Bird, Alexander Hargrove, Corty Gates, and Ioannis Touloupas.

In the 11 to 14 year old category the top three finishers were:
1st place: Brennan Pickman-Thoom from Vector Theater
2nd place: Ryan Beck from Rohnert Park
3rd place: David O'Connell from Rohnert Park
3rd place: Alexander Cox from Miller Creek
Also fencing that day (in no particular order) were Greg Johnson, Jordan Skubic, Gabriel Johnson, Nick Duvall, and Clark Steward.

Finally, in the 15+ age category the top three finishers were:
1st place: Manish Gadhok from Sonoma State University
2nd place: Paul Vercammen-Grandjean from Sonoma State University
3rd place: Jillian Varonin from T.L.
3rd place: Alex Soden from Sebastopol

We haven't received any photos of the big day yet, but are looking forward to receiving them so we can put them up.
A big thanks to the parents and fencers who made the SFA Beginner's Tournament the success it was.
